I am a qualified Integrative Child and Adolescent Counsellor (MBACP) and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) with Yoga Alliance UK. I have been working with young people who have been disengaged from education due to emotional distress for over ten years in a mentoring and therapeutic capacity.
I am experienced in working with children, adolescents and families with a range of issues including trauma, bereavement, anxiety, depression, self-harming, aggression, withdrawal, negative body image, low self-esteem, abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence, parental divorce, neglect relational difficulties.
I work on a one-to-one basis to help young people and families who experience emotional difficulties in the context of a therapeutic relationship working with a number of modalities to deepen the therapeutic experience including puppetry, clay, paint, music, drama, sand tray and yoga to encourage self-awareness and healing.
In a safe and confidential space, I help children and adolescents work through psychological distress and trauma in order to fulfil their potential.
What does it mean to hold space for someone else?
It means that we are willing to walk alongside another person in whatever journey they’re on without judging them, making them feel inadequate, trying to fix them, or trying to impact the outcome. When we hold space for other people, we open our hearts, offer unconditional support, and let go of judgement and control.
